Elves invaded the Sanctuary on Tuesday, November 30. Look closely to see if you can find them.
What a blessing it was Monday, November 15.
Many of you (sixteen) either made food or helped deliver soup and cornbread and cookies and brownies to fourteen of our members living alone at home or with a sitter. One of the charges Jesus left to his disciples was to look after the widows and orphans.
Special thank you to each one of you who made the day such a special one!
This picture was taken 2-3 years ago before Celeste Felten moved to Kentucky. A great pic of her with Donnie and Delma Smith.
January 2021 - Mississippi College senior Kennedy McCurdy fell in love with the atmosphere at MC as an eighth grader attending a Centrifuge camp. Part of the delegation of visitors from Cairo Baptist Church in Southwest Georgia, Kennedy discovered the Clinton Campus for the first time in the summer of 2014.
Fast forward to January 2021. And the Christian Studies major is delighted to be the recipient of a new scholarship from Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson.
"I plan to work within a church or Christian nonprofit directing and leading mission." Kennedy says. "This scholarship was a reminder from the Lord," says the wife of Forest church pastor Blake McCurdy. "He will provide in every season of life He brings me through."
Senior pastor at the south Jackson church, Burn Page, is delighted to announce her selection for the award. He also chairs MC's Christian Studies Department.
God's work has continued to go on throughout the pandemic. So many of you have been so faithful in giving to the Lord. Many of you are continuing to send in your offering envelopes faithfully through the mail each week or month and you may choose to continue to do so. Now that we have returned to on-site Bible Study in our Sunday School and to Worship in the sanctuary, many of you are turning in your tithes and offerings when you come to church on Sunday mornings once again.
Remember that a portion of your tithes and offerings still goes to the support of missionaries on a regular basis through the Cooperative Program where all Southern Baptist Churches give together a portion of their church offerings.
It has been a few years ago now that Cindy Hamil, daughter of Billy and Peggy Roberts, put a fresh face on our Alta Woods Website. We think it is really nice. Thank you, Cindy, for a beautiful job!
