JESUS IS ALIVE! HE IS RISEN!
Can you say with the soldier at the cross, "truly, this was the son of god!"
Jesus Christ was crucified... he shed His blood and died on a Roman cross in Jerusalem witnessed by hundreds, perhaps thousands. BUT THREE DAYS LATER, HE AROSE FROM THE GRAVE AND WALKED ON THE EARTH FOR FORTY DAYS BEING SEEN BY HUNDREDS. He was the Sacrificial Lamb, making a way for us to be right with God by paying the debt for our sins on that old wooden cross.
- That is the distinguishing fact between Christianity and all other world religions - we serve a risen Savior, One who has power even over death. The founders of all other religions have died never to be seen again. But not Jesus! For forty days, He was seen by, was touched by, walked and talked and ate with others, all after He was raised from the dead. Emmanuel - God with us! He also possessed the authority and ability to disappear from their presence and reappear physically in their presence... only God can do that. Then he bodily ascended to heaven as a number of his followers watched. Truly He was and is the Son of God!
- Satan had done his worst, BUT God did His best! Satan thought he had defeated God by killing his son, but it was in God's plan all along that Jesus must suffer and die as payment for our sins. We could never hope to be good enough to enter heaven on our own good works - our own goodness and righteousness is like filthy rags. The sin debt we all incurred must be reconciled and only Jesus as the sinless Son of God could pay that debt. Our only hope for eternal life and for heaven is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
- That is great news, but the best news is yet to come.
Jesus promised that one day he's coming back! He will come back for you if you will believe in your heart that Jesus Christ came to earth as God in the flesh... taking on the form of a man... that He died a sacrificial, substitute death on the cross for your sins and mine, was raised from the dead. If you will confess with your mouth that you accept him as Lord of your life; then on the authority of the Word of God, the Holy Bible, you can avoid the punishment of sin, you can inherit eternal life, and you can begin a new life with God... a life that will never end. You can do that today right where you are. If you truly mean it - and He will know if you are serious about Him - then He will come into your life and give you a new life, a new hope, a new purpose, and a new commitment to live a selfless life, surrendered only to Him.
My dear friend, all my sins are forgiven because I have put my faith and trust in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is preparing a place for me in heaven and for all those who will receive Him as Savior and Lord.
Praise God... Jesus took our place on the cross so we could have a place in heaven!
His grace is sufficient for you. He still saves all those who will come to him. Romans 10:13... "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Revelation 3:10... "Behold I(Jesus) stand at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice and open the door I will come in to him." You must open the door from the inside. Jesus will not force himself into your life.

PLEASE NOTE: At the Church Business Meeting Wednesday January 29, Sid Johnson shared with the Church his intention to move to Tuscaloosa around the end of March. This marks almost 23 years of serving the Lord with you in this place. I thank the good Lord for your grace and love and patience with me all these years. Please continue to pray as there are many details that must be worked out before then. We still have a house to sell. We are asking the Lord for wisdom and guidance.
WHEN YOU GAVE YOUR HEART TO JESUS, HE RETURNED THE FAVOR. HE PLACED HIS HEART IN YOU... SO AS CHRIST GROWS IN US, WE GROW IN CHRIST. WE WILL NEVER BE SINLESS, BUT WE SHOULD SIN LESS.

Church Business Meeting April 30, 2025.
Annual financial report was good, we spent less than we took in. It was reported that the church van was sold to the Pontotoc Baptist Association for $32,000. The largest portion of these funds were deposited to the Virginia Stampley foundation fund.
God says that when he forgives our sins he chooses not to remember our sins anymore.
Isaiah 43:25 I am he that blotteth out the transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Micah 7:19 ... he will have compassion on us, he will subdue our iniquities; and thou will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
Jeremiah 31:34 ...I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more.

Recipient of Alta Woods Baptist's Christian Studies Scholarship at MC 2023-2024
She sent me this note when school was starting at MC. (August 26, 2024)
The Alta Woods scholarship is so generous and has provided me with many great opportunities. I am now a double major in Christian Studies and Spanish. This past spring semester, I had the amazing opportunity to go on a study abroad trip to Guam. It was possible for me to go on this 2-week long trip because of the Alta Woods scholarship! I learned so much about the island and the people there, and had the opportunity to apply what I had learned to my future in mission work.
On Friday, August 30th, I will fly to Spain, where I will study for the next three months. I am doing a semester abroad through MC’s Study Abroad program. The continuing generosity of the Alta Woods Scholarship is helping to make this experience possible for me. I am excited to experience and learn so many new things. I will be studying at the University of Salamanca, where I will exclusively study the Spanish language. This will aid me in future mission work. I hope the Lord will send me to a Spanish-speaking country, but if not, I know he will equip me with the resources I need to serve in any country.
I look forward to returning to MC in January of 2025, and would be happy to visit Alta Woods and the people there to provide an update on my semester abroad, if you would like!
